Game Designer - Live Ops

I work on Bold Moves as a Game Designer focused on live ops. Every week, Bold Moves has several in game events, and I would design new levels for these. This was challenging, as I strove to design levels that would delight players with fun, imaginative levels - despite having a fixed set of tools and mechanics.

I also played a large role in designing/planning future updates for the game. This included many quality of life updates, new features, and lots of tuning based on data/analytics to increase our retention numbers.

In addition to my design work, I also managed the data structure behind the scenes. This included scheduling of events, sales, artwork, quotes/phrases, sharables, etc.

My Work on Bold Moves

  • Create, tune, and balance a set of new levels every week for events.

  • Use data/analytics to fine tune our “ladder” levels in order to increase retention metrics.

  • Ensure new levels are imaginative, fun, and challenging using a fixed toolset.

  • Managed the data structure behind events, including scheduling of events/sales, artwork, quotes, sharables, etc.

  • Provided valuable design insights when planning future features
